What to expect

Our experienced veterinary team specializes in end-of-life care. We guide you through each step, making sure the process is peaceful. Every step is unhurried and centered around your pet's comfort— in the comfort of your own home.

1
A gentle, peaceful process
A calming sedative helps your pet feel at ease. Once your pet is fully relaxed and sleeping, a second medication allows them to pass. You can hold them, talk to them, or simply sit in quiet. Whatever feels right.
2
Your pet stays in our care

Following your goodbye, we respectfully transport your pet to our Comfort Center for water cremation. From the moment of farewell through cremation, your pet never leaves our care.

3
A beautiful return home

For families choosing individual cremation, ashes are returned in our signature Honor Box, along with meaningful keepsakes.

For families choosing individual cremation, we return ashes and memorial items in a curated Honor Box.

  • Sustainable scatter tube with your pet's ashes
  • Digital nose print
  • Forget-me-not seeds
  • A tree planted in your pet's honor
  • Fur clipping in a glass vial

Pre-planning and Quality of Life Consults

If you’re uncertain about timing or next steps, you don’t have to face it alone. We’ll help you understand your pet’s quality of life and provide the support you need to make thoughtful, informed choices.

Questions families often ask

How do I know when it's time?

There's no single answer, but there are signs to look for and conversations that can help. Our pre-planning consults offer the time and space needed to discuss your pet’s quality of life, explore options, and make informed end-of-life decisions.

What's the difference between in-home and in-center?

With in-home euthanasia, our veterinarian comes to you so your pet can stay in their favorite spot. With in-center, you come to one of our private Comfort Rooms in Downtown LA, where you'll have access to a memorial station and unhurried space to say goodbye.

What happens during the appointment?

A calming sedative helps your pet feel at ease. Once your pet is fully relaxed and sleeping, a second medication allows them to pass. You can hold them, talk to them, or simply sit in quiet. Whatever feels right.

What happens to my pet afterward?

Following your goodbye, we respectfully care for your pet’s water cremation (aquamation), a gentle, water-based process that uses 90% less energy than fire cremation. From the moment of farewell through cremation, your pet never leaves our care. If you choose individual aquamation, you'll receive ashes back in a curated Honor Box. For communal water cremation, ashes are scattered on a private nature reserve in Temecula, California (visit mylittlewhiskers.com to learn more).

Can I schedule a same-day appointment?

Yes, we offer same-day pet euthanasia appointments 7 days a week, though scheduling may depend on availability. You can schedule online or text/call us at (323) 515-1234.

What if I'm not ready to schedule but want to talk through options?

Our pre-planning consults give you space to process your options and make informed choices. You can talk through your pet's quality of life and ask questions with no pressure to make any decisions.

How is the Comfort Center different from an in-hospital euthanasia?

Our Comfort Rooms were designed specifically for end-of-life care. They're warm, private spaces that feel more like home than a clinic. You'll have access to a memorial station, comfortable seating, and an unhurried experience to honor your pet and the love you've shared.

Do you offer mobile euthanasia?

Yes. Our in-home euthanasia service is a mobile euthanasia option where our veterinarian travels to you. Your pet stays in their favorite spot, and our team handles everything from there, including water cremation.
